Welcome to the exciting world of aviation and the Women in Aviation, New England Chapter (aka YankeeWings). Our members are aviation enthusiasts...anyone who enjoys the sights and sounds of a J-3 Cub on a grass strip or a Boeing 747 jetting to distant destinations. We are pilots, students, flight attendants, mechanics, air traffic controllers, journalists, business operators, and others. We are here to be supportive, and to serve as advisors, mentors, and interested colleagues. Join today and make a difference! -- Bonnie McKowen, Founding Member

The Yankee Wings chapter was established in January, 2001, at Hampton Airfield (7B3) North Hampton, NH. We've been busy and productive since then. Meetings are held once a month the second Sunday at 4:00 pm, usually at the Airfield Café at Hampton Airfield. We do plan tours and will bypass the Hampton meetings for such events.

Here is a list of some of our past activities.

Captain Jeannie Dismukes speaks about her Big San Juan Adventure...Added our younger friends into our group with a hangar and field tour at Hampton airfield...Radio Control airplane flying with John Backhaus...New England Aviation Expo at Daniel Webster College...Co-Sponsor FAA Safety Seminars...Hang-glider and pioneer Terry Sweeney speaks...Good talks and socialization at all of our meetings...John McCoy speaks on Katharine Wright, "the 3rd Wright brother"...Annual summer cook out at Jeannie and Will Dismukes' house...Help the local Girl Scouts with their Aerospace Merit Badge

We need your involvement and excitement to make these things happen, as well as to fulfill our mission of promoting excitement and interest in aviation. Please attend one of our activities or suggest a topic for our next activity.
